Steve Olsen –
Really fast, responsive and amazing lighting patterns.
My son is a hard core gamer. His previous keyboard, an HP, wasn’t bad. This one is well beyond that, and compared to the HP is kind of like comparing a Toyota Corolla to a Porsche in terms of speed and handling. The first one does the job but once you have experienced the second one, you will never go back. The keyboard has adjustable lighting patterns (you have to download the software from the company website.) and a key that speeds up response when you really need to kill an alien, animal, fellow player or whatever in a big hurry. This is one of the company’s entry level gaming keyboards but I can’t see why you would want to go higher up the ladder. This thing rocks.

Keyboard ok. QA and Support terrible.
Keyboard arrived in original undamaged packaging. The usual Amazon overly protected outside packaging. First thing I find upon opening and plugging in is that the ?/ key is lower than all the other keys. Figured it was just “stuck” so I gently pried it up with a non-marring tool. The key came out and I found that it is A) Very easily replaceable. Pop out and snap back in. And B) the key has been miscast and made it through Logitech’s QA all the way to me.These things happen. So onto the Logitech warranty site. Whoa that is not fun or easy. 3 days later and after submitting initial descriptions and pictures I got an email requesting proof of purchase and additional pictures and descriptions of what the problem was. Okay… so I did that too.Took a little longer than I would have thought to get to this point. But hey, these things happen. They’ll probably just send out the defective key. Nope.2 more days and I get another email from Logitech support saying to repackage and return to Amazon. Nice. No responsibility for it what so ever.Nice work Logitech. I probably wont buy from you again unless I have to.

Features for non-gamers, too.
I am totally not a gamer, so this is from the viewpoint of an old woman with vision problems who types too fast for a lot of software. The first thing I love about this keyboard, however trivial it might seem, is that the keys light up, and the characters are large. I can see the keys I’m looking for! Yes, I touch-type my alphabet, but sometimes not so much the numbers and symbols, and now I can find them quickly and easily. The lighting effects are fun and useful – definitely download the Logitech software from their Web site. You can color-code various zones on the keyboard or just let it change colors in various ways. I turned on the Wave effect for now.I can also create macros very easily, like for key combos that I use often but have trouble executing without looking or with one hand. I can set up the function keys for all kinds of stuff.I have a great big gaming laptop, also for the power and the big screen, and I like to watch video on it when I’m not working. The media keys on this keyboard allow me to pause, start, stop, mute, and skip without having to use a mouse or the touchpad on the built-in keyboard on the laptop. The wrist rest actually helps these old hands, and the spill resistance means I’ll actually get to keep this for a while.Incidentally, Captain Carrot the ginger cat hates it when I put the big laptop in my lap, but right now I’m using it on the side while resting the keyboard on the cat, and he seems quite content: see?

Best Keyboard I have ever owned.
Best Keyboard I have ever owned. I have had CM Storm and Razer keyboards, and this Logitech G213 Prodigy Gaming Keyboard is by far the best and my favorite keyboard to date, and not over-priced either (cough Razer!). The color zoning is great, especially when gaming, which I ended up finding more useful than anticipated. The software, not required but recommended, is intuitive, but very lite and unobtrusive. We all have different want, needs, and likes, but for me this keyboard hit the mark.

No frills, but very pleasant.
Keyboard is nice, if a bit large from top to bottom. For my particular situation, the large footprint is actually a good thing. The backlight colors are hard-mapped to five zones, which isn’t overly flexible, but the rotating preset looks very smooth, and can fool your brain into thinking each key is rotating colors independently. No dedicated, remappable G-keys, and it’s not mechanical, but I use a Logitech gamepad for gaming, so I actually don’t miss those features at all.One detail I especially appreciate is the cable: Good quality sleeved cable, and the USB connector has a keyboard icon molded into it, so when you’re at the back of your PC trying to sort out which USB cable goes to which peripheral, you at least know which one is the keyboard. I wish this were more commonly done, as I’m not as good about labeling things as I should be.

Great Budget/Starter Gaming Keyboard if you WANT Logitech!
The short review: The Logitech G213 (membrane) Keyboard looks great, feels good, and has a lot of features in combination that are very hard to find in one keyboard, especially an affordable one. Price, RGB, Media Keys & the “G” logo to match my mouse were my reasons for buying. I expect they’ll be yours too. If you want a decent quality, affordable, RGB, Gaming membrane keyboard, compare this one and the Corsair K55. Buy one. Push buttons and save up for that high end work horse you really want.Longer Review:Pros: Very attractive. The G213 looks the part. It looks like a much more costly gaming keyboard. If you want your desk setup to look like a higher end, RGB gaming setup, the Logitech G213 is the king. If you need a full size keyboard w/ rest, that is… I’ll explain- what this budget board has that no other board does is:RGB backlighting and through lighting on the keysDedicated media keysBraided, tangle-free cableSleek fit & finish that will match other products in it’s own ecosystemThat “G” logo… If that is something that you like…Cons: Mine arrived with a defective key. I had to exchange it. While this is a budget keyboard, it still costs more than some competing budget boards, and the fitment of keys and such should be better than they are. That said, I don’t know that there is a keyboard in this class that is any better, and “lemons” are a very real thing. I’m just glad that I CAN return stuff. There is one exception to this which I will mention below. The retail, non-sale price is steep. I got mine for about $47 on sale here on Amazon. That’s a more than fair price for an RGB, ten-key keyboard that is stylized to match other gaming gear. It “lists” for like $69. Don’t pay more than $50 for this keyboard brand new. Logitech has keyboards in it’s own line up that are far higher quality for about that much money. The competition that you should be looking at is the Corsair K55. It is in my opinion, a higher quality budget board for about the same price. It has everything this keyboard does, albeit, the overall esthetic is not quite as good. The Corsair K55 is a gloss black plastic and it doesn’t exactly resonate with a “premium” appearance. By contrast, the Logitech G213 looks nicer than it is. It does not have braided, tangle-free cables either. In fact, I don’t think any of Corsair’s cheaper gear does, so if that bothers you like it does me, that’ll be a problem. On the other hand, the K55 has 6 “G” macro keys on the left hand side. A nice feature! The key actuation is smoother and quieter than the Logitech G213, in general, it feels better. Although, the Logitech “mech-dome” does a better job of emulating the mechanical experience. I’d say it feels a bit like their own Romer-G Tactile switches. But just a bit…I own both of these keyboards and speak from experience. I also own a Logitech G613 and have used pretty extensively a Corsair K70 Rapidfire. That’s about as far as my expertise goes. I do a wild combination of gaming, typing, photo/video editing and ACAD designing.

Ok Keyboard if lightning is not of much importance
Its ok.. the lighting system is pretty minimal and the colors bleed into each other creating an inconsistency in colors. Looks weird tbh. To elaborate a bit more- the lighting is sectioned into 5 areas and lets say you choose blue for the very left section and red for second second, many of the keys will be colored just fine while others have a strange mix (pinkish or light blue in this case) look to it- it looks terrible, and cheap. The keys feel good, not great but fine. Overall, the keyboard is great if the price is hovering around $30 and I’ve seen it go that low on days like black Friday- however for any more than that there are simply better choices available.

They keyboard feels great, key strokes feel smooth and responsive
This review has nothing to do with longevity of the product because im writing it after my first gaming session. WOW. I’m absolutely blown away by the product i received. They keyboard feels great, key strokes feel smooth and responsive. The lighting looks so good, its not to bright on any color and not to dark on any. Wrist rest is smooth yet still grabs your wrist and keeps it from sliding out of place unless you want it to. Product feels really well constructed, not heavy and the usb is high quality cord. With the price i paid for this keyboard i couldnt be happier, if it holds up to the test of time ill never buy another keyboard beside a logitech.
